Building arm strength for motocross
Motocross requires serious strength in many parts of the body, but one of the most important areas is in the arms. Without proper arm strength you could grow fatigued in little time from handling your motorcycle and trying to stay on.
Today we will cover a few things to increase your arm strength. Firs is a standard bicep curl. When you doing your curls we will use dumbbells so you will be curling each arm one at a time. The key is to really grip the bar hard to increase grip strength. Do not use straps this will only take away from your grip strength. Another great exercise is to use a tennis ball and squeeze it several times over and over this will build up your grip strength. You should do 3 sets of each of the exercises listed above. Next is a tricep pushdown exercise use fairly heavy weights and complete 4 sets of 10 reps. Straight bar curl do 3 sets of 15 with this exercise letting the bar hang down at the end of your fingers for 2 seconds at the bottom of the rep. Use these four exercise to help increase your arm strength, you should notice a difference in about 3 to 4 weeks. Try to train using these exercises 2 times a week giving yourself at least 48 hours in between training to allow proper recovery time.
